Welcome to my website. I hope you find the information here valuable and edifying. I started this site to help others understand scripture in the way that it was written to it’s original audience. I have spent time studying the ancient near east culture and their spiritual worldview and plan to continue to study more. I will be using this site as a location to organize my thoughts and explain things in a (hopefully) simple to understand modality. I know that most of the information in this area of study is academic and not always gathered in one easy to find location. I hope that this website meets this need.

As I have studied the ancient near east culture, I have found that my understanding of God and his creation has deepened, and as a result, my relationship with God. I have also found that a lot of the passages that seem strange or can appear to contradict itself, make more sense. I definitely do not have all the answers, but I want to share with others as I dive deeper into my studies.

I plan to have a couple of different sections laid out on this site. One, as I read books, I will do a book review to overview what is in the book and who I’d recommend it to. Two, I plan to have research topics that I’m looking into with summaries and links to some research articles covering those topics. Three, I will have links to ancient texts that you can read for yourself and give you a summary of what the text is about. I have already started reading some of the oldest texts that we have and will continue to read from the oldest to get a view of how ideas developed over time.
